Before Gauldin was one of the great nations, it was a humble kingdom of riverways and waterfalls. In these days, Gauldin was ruled by Rexia Monteluc and she had an advisor named Philus Eldersblood, a half-elf. Gauldin always had great respect for nature, and the forests on their northern border were always a mystery to them. It is there that a party of scouts from among Gauldin’s Rangers round a nearly dead Philus on the southern edge of the Pendlewood Forest. It was there that a great beast emerged and attempted to finish Philus off. The rangers acted quickly and carried Philus into the woods. The beast gave chase but Philus was able to guide his rescuers through the forest to surround the beast and strike it dead.
After this, he was brought back to the Rexia, who wished to see him due to his knowledge of the northern woods. She made Philus her advisor and soon he told her his secret. He was a bastard son of a high elf noble and the beast had been sent by his father to kill him. The Rexia guarded his secret and gave him refuge in exchange for his service.
