Old Kethen was to be the crown jewel of Bredden’s Expansion. The city was built using Dwarven ingenuity and architecture. King Bredden had the city built along the banks of the Andar Sea so that the Dwarven Kingdom would finally be able to engage in the sea trade with what would one day become the Independent Territories, The Principality of Yegen, and the trade that centered around the Darksteel Tower, in what would one day be the city of Ulren, and then later the Imperial City.
However, after the Dragon’s Road project was abandoned during King Karoda‘s reign, the following king, King Vereth the Pious declared the whole project heresy, especially the building of Old Kethen. King Vereth declared that King Bredden had betrayed his people by creating a city on the flatlands and near a sea nonetheless, spitting in the face of their gods and what it means to be a dwarf. King vereth since struck Old Kethen from the records along with the entire Dragon’s Road project leaving them lost to history until rediscovered.
