The Golden Pools of Ouraven
Deep within the Teldosh Lava Plains, one can find deep pools of perpetually molten gold surrounding a black tower. This is the home of the ancient gold dragon Ouraven, who took the tower from the evil sorceress Marexi after her defeat at the hands of Ferros the Good, founding member of the Etheric Nexus and Elethwe the Redeemer, drow warrior, following Marexi’s attempt to take over the Principality of Yegun and use its famous Transmuter’s Hall and the Plasmic Cistern it contains in order to open a portal to the Obsidian Pyramid tended to and guarded by the Order of the Black Justice, which is itself a portal to the Shandae mor Gammu or Prison of Eternity, which held the Synod of the New World, who Marexi was attempting to free. Once Ouraven took control of the black tower, he finally had a place to set down, being a young dragon at the time. With Marexi and her horrors gone from the lava plains, merchants began trying to traverse the plains as a shortcut around the Andar Sea, though the lava plains were not yet free of danger. One day, Feowyn Bluegrove, the pioneer merchant, found herself in trouble, but managed to catch the eye of Ouraven. She offered him gold for his protection, but many dragons horaded gold, and Ouraven wanted to be different. Desperate for help, Feowyn offered the dragon a story, which he accepted along with the gold. Ever since, even after the advent of Sigmund the Enslaved, travelers across the lava plains bring along gold to fill Ouraven’s pools and a bard to bring stories with which to fill his true hoard.
